The Pacific Rim Parks Organization will continue on an ambitious park building project, creating the next park in Puerto Princesa, on the island of Palawan in the Philippines.

The Site
The city has given us a beautiful site which will be the entrance to the future Environmental Tropical Science Center and eco-tourist center of the city. Like all of the parks it’s open to the public and on the Pacific

Who’s Involved
The design of each park is the result of a process that includes local and foreign students Working with artists and designers from the Pacific Rim Park Organization. The students will be from the Philippines, China, Russia, Korea, and America. Our Contact in the Philippines is Gigo Alampay

PRP Course Schedule '09

Palawan, Philippines:

Day 1 
Sunday May 3rd / Manila: 
Everybody to Arrive and first group meeting is 4:00pm at hotel. Initial Class orientation and meeting of all participants. Overnight in Manila 

Day 2 
Monday May 4th / Manila: 
Orientation to the Philippines, including tour of Intramuros and other cultural activities. Overnight in Manila 

Day 3 
Tuesday May 5th / Puerto: 
Travel to Puerto Princesa. Orientation to Palawan. 

Day 4-7 
Wed. May 6th - Sat 9th / Puerto:
Design process. Including cultural events and excursions on Palawan. For these days we are on the site unless on an excursion. 

Day 8 
Sunday May 10th / Puerto: 
Day off 

Day 9 
Monday May 11th / Puerto:
Design presentation to the Mayor and other provincial and city Officials. Begin site preparation. 

Day 11-28 
Tuesday May 12th -Friday May 29th / Puerto: 
Building phase. During this period, the Park staff and students will be are on the site almost all of the time,exceptforSundaythe 17th and 24th will probably be days of rest and excursions 

Day 29 
Saturday May 30th / Puerto:
Public dedication ceremony, attended by mayor, city officials, other dignitaries and the press. 

Day 30 
Sunday May 31st / Manila: 
Travel to Manila. 

Day 31 
Monday June 1st / Manila:
Leave Manila for home country
