Parque a la Orilla del Mar

Pacific Rim Park es un programa internacional diseñado para estudiantes de diferentes países que desean aportar algo a la humanidad. Durante más de 10 años se han construido parques ubicados en países que conforman el cinturón de fuego tales como: Rusia, Estados Unidos, China, México, Filipinas y ahora lo que vendrá siendo el sexto parque en la isla de Jeju, Corea del Sur. PRP son dirigidos por el Arquitecto Kyle Bermang y el Artista James Hubbell desde 1998. Hoy, sigue adelante este programa con la ayuda de Dios se lograra el termino de este maravilloso proyecto.

Este año 2010 Con un cálido abrazo le ha dado la bienvenida ha jóvenes estudiantes que han estado conviviendo como nunca lo habíamos hecho antes. Demostrando asi que el lenguaje no es un impedimento para formar amistades. La amistad es algo que no tiene limites incluso entre personas con diferentes idiomas. Hemos sido una familia muy bonita, es algo que jamas olvidare.

Estoy muy sorprendido por las personas de la isla porque son realmente muy amables, sonríen al momento de saludarlos. Es una alegría indiscriptible, me siento como si estuviera en casa, y eso nos ayuda muchas veces a pensar en lo que realmente somos.Para las personas que este leyendo este escrito sabran a lo que me refiero… Verdad Dima?

En lo personal siento que estos parques ayudaran de alguna manera a que la humnanidad este conectada: no solo con un sencillo proyecto sino con alegria de decir que el mundo es de todos y que debemos cuidarlo para que las generaciones futuras esten cada dia mas unidas. Mantengan una sonrisa incluso en los momentos mas duros. It keeps a smile, even in the tough days.

DAY 20 (July 31 2010): The Grandmother Stone & the Park Name

We have now six new members in this year’s PRP: three Russians and three Koreans. The Russians were planned to be here from the start, but the Koreans were added spontaneously when one of the girls stopped by and saw us working. She got some of her friends and decided to help us build the park!

In the morning, we continued to work on the Pearl portion of the park. Also the excavator pulled the emergency signs off the current place. We will implant a new one when the park is complete.

In the afternoon, we got the rock which will be carved as a grandmother stone later by the stone master, Mr. Kim. It was a very difficult task to place a huge and heavy rock onto the small tip of the spiral.

We got our park name written in Korean calligraphy. In English, it is “Stepping Stones of the Pacific.”

After the hard work, the local government of Jeju invited us for Korean BBQ dinner. The food and hospitality the people in Jeju have shown us have been quite remarkable. Thank you!
